A member of Carolina Hand Surgery Associates of Asheville, Dr. Lechner joined the hospital’s medical staff in 1994, and now performs hand surgery here on a monthly basis. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University’s College of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Mount  Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill  before undertaking a fellowship in hand surgery at the Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis, IN.

Dr. Lechner is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the Southeastern Orthopedic Association.
