Dr. Leila M. Martin is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. She performed her internship in medicine and residency in anesthesiology at Emory in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Martin  was one of 10 anesthesiologists on the staff of Pediatric Anesthesia Specialists an Atlanta group of which she was president for four years. She was on the staff of Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center in Atlanta, and has also been associated with both the Emory Clinic and the Henrietta Egleston Hospital for Children in Atlanta.

She is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Anesthesia Section, and the International Anesthesia Research Society, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She joined Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in 1997.
