Highlands-Cashiers Hospice provides a special kind of compassionate, home-focused care to terminally-ill residents of southern Macon and Jackson Counties based on a physician's referral.

With a specially trained team of care givers comprised of nurses, physicians, a social worker, a dietitian, a pharmacist, a chaplain and numerous volunteers, Highlands- Cashiers Hospice strives to honor the personal choices of its patients while treating the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the dying and their families.

Hospice concentrates on making patients as free of pain and as comfortable as possible with dignity and peace while allowing them to remain among loved ones.

Hospice services are available to anyone with a life expectancy of six months or less who is referred by a member of the Hospital's medical staff. Patients of Highlands-Cashiers Hospice must be under the supervision of a staff physician.

The program also offers family support and bereavement counseling, including support even after a patient's death. For More on Hospice Services, click here.
