Among the services by Highlands-Cashiers Hospice are:

• Patient support services 24 hours, seven days a week
• Dedicated nurses trained in pain management, care, and support
• A social worker to address financial concerns, find needed community resources, assist with family counseling, and provide emotional support
• Trained volunteers for companionship, fellowship. and assisting with the little things that matter, such as relieving a care-giver or helping with personal projects
• A chaplain to assist patients and families, providing counseling, emotional support, and lending a "listening ear".
• Family support and bereavement counseling following a patient's death.

Payment Options:

Hospice services provided under a physician's orders are covered by Medicare/Medicaid and by most private insurance plans. They can, of course, be obtained by private payment as well.
